Cut the Waiting, not the Care

Prostate cancer is New Zealand’s most commonly diagnosed cancer after skin cancer

Every year over 4000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in New Zealand and over 700 men die from this disease. Prostate cancer is the second highest cause of cancer death in NZ, after lung cancer.

“The worst part was the waiting. The wait for the appointment, the MRI, the biopsy, and the wait for the results. Not knowing was stressful for me and my family."

At Ormiston Urology, we understand the anxiety elevated PSA levels can cause your patients and their families. That's why we're proud to offer New Zealand's only Fast Track PSA Clinic, where rapid diagnosis is the standard of care.

How does it work?

We have streamlined a process that can take 6 to 12 weeks from the first specialist appointment with a Urologist till the time a patient knows whether or not he has prostate cancer.

We have managed to compress this into a 72 hour time frame made up of the following steps :

Day 1

  • Prostate MRI scan

  • Appointment with Urologist

  • Prostate biopsy (if required)

Day 3

  • Meet with Urologist for biopsy results

  • Treatment discussion with Urologist

  • Treatment discussion with Radiation Oncologist

Benefits of the Fast Track PSA Clinic

  • REDUCED STRESS - we get you through the diagnosis process fast so that you can get the information you need quickly

  • EXPERT GUIDANCE - Urological experts with world-class training and facilities

  • SEAMLESS - Discuss all treatment options during the same visit with a Urological surgeon and a Radiation Oncologist
